MARKET INTEGRATION PARTNER

“Market Integration Partner” (or “MIP”) are the Successful bidder (Farmer Producer Organisation or Company registered in Tamil Nadu under any of the following legal provisions, or as Consortium of FPCs or as Federation of FPOs) who has been awarded the contract to operate the particular Primary Processing Centre.

ENGAGEMENT OF MARKET INTEGRATION PARTNER (MIP)

MIPs can utilize the processing facility by paying certain fixed “PPC charges” for a fixed term and primarily process the fruits, vegetables and other perishables so as to reduce the post-harvest handling loss. It is expected to certainly translate into cost savings or additional revenue.
MIPs shall also pay certain “Transaction charges” on the volume of transactions handled at the PPC.
MIPs can also offer the facility by collecting “Service charges” in certain specific locations for the buyers to do the primary processing and packing especially for exports and organized retail trade.

OPERATIONALISATION OF PPCS

The competent Farmer Producer Organizations selected based on the tender outcomes will be given the role of Market Integration Partners and engaged to operationalise the Primary Processing Centres.

MIPs will procure the fruits, vegetables and other perishables from the production clusters by engaging the local farming community and Farmer Producer Organisations.
MIPs will engage their own resources with adequate technical background with skill sets and utilize the PPC infrastructure, plant and machinery to manage the PPC and undertake business operations on a profitable basis.
MIPs will be a business entity which handles the entire supply chain and manages both backward and forward linkages.
