Hosur PPC is situated beside Rayakottai road next to the Agriculture Engineering Department building and very near to NH 44 Chennai to Bangalore highway giving it direct access to the road transport. This location is a major vegetable growing and trading cluster. It caters the trading, processing, and export community of production clusters around Hosur. The crop grown around a radius of 30km can be processed in Hosur PPC.
Hosur PPC is well equipped with a packhouse and additional handling area to handle about 24.25 MT of vegetables. This PPC is established to focus on handling Beans, Cabbage, Capsicum, Cauliflower, Tomato, Cucumber etc. A cold storage unit with a capacity of 25 MT is provided to store the primary processed vegetables. Also having a Low Temperature Dehydration unit with a capacity of 250 Kgs per batch. Other basic amenities such as admin block, power station and sanitary blocks are also provided inside the premises.
The PPC is designated to APEDA accredited pack house to support more exports from the region.
A quality control lab is provided in the facility for the assessment of the quality of produce before and after processing. This is to ensure the quality standards of the produce delivered from the processing centre.
