Cumbum (I) – Multi Produce PPC is built inside the regulated market complex which is situated beside NH183 Theni to Kumily road. This location is a major vegetable growing and trading cluster. It caters the trading, processing and export community of production clusters around Cumbum (I) – Multi Produce. The crop grown around a radius of 30km can be processed in Cumbum (I) – Multi Produce PPC.
Cumbum (I) – Multi Produce PPC is well equipped with a packhouse and additional handling area to handle about 8 MT of vegetables on a daily basis. This PPC is established to focus on handling Radish, Tomato, Beetroot, Coccinia, Cauliflower, Chillies. A cold storage unit with a capacity of 25 MT is provided to store the primary processed vegetables. Other basic amenities such as admin block, power station and sanitary blocks are also provided inside the premises.
A quality control lab is provided in the facility for the assessment of the quality of produce before and after processing. This is to ensure the quality standards of the produce delivered from the processing centre
