M.Puthur PPC is situated from where it is connected to SH 25 Trichy to Namakkal road by Katuputhur – Thottiam road. This location is a major Banana growing and trading cluster. It caters the trading, processing and export community of production clusters around M.Puthur. The crop grown around a radius of 30km can be processed in M.Puthur PPC.
M.Puthur PPC is well equipped with a packhouse and additional handling area to handle about 24 MT of Banana on a daily basis. This PPC is established to focus on handling Banana. A cold storage unit with a capacity of 13 MT is provided to store the primary processed Banana. Other basic amenities such as admin block, power station and sanitary blocks are also provided inside the premises.
A quality control lab is provided in the facility for the assessment of the quality of produce before and after processing. This is to ensure the quality standards of the produce delivered from the processing centre.
