Mannachanallur (II) – Banana PPC is built inside the regulated market complex which is in Edumalai road and it is about 10 kms from Trichy to Chennai highway, giving it easy access to the road transport. This location is a major Banana growing and trading cluster. It caters the trading, processing and export community of production clusters around Mannachanallur (II). The crop grown around a radius of 30 km can be processed in Mannachanallur (II) – Banana PPC.
Mannachanallur (II- Banana PPC is well equipped with a packhouse and additional handling area to handle about 24 MT of Banana on a daily basis. This PPC is established to focus on handling Banana. In this PPC special ripening chamber with a capacity of 15 MT is provided to carry out ethylene ripening and supply ripened fruits based on the market need. Other basic amenities such as admin block, power station and sanitary blocks are also provided inside the premises.
A quality control lab is provided in the facility for the assessment of the quality of produce before and after processing. This is to ensure the quality standards of the produce delivered from the processing centre.
